I'm Specogna Ruben and I currently hold a tenure as Assistant Professor faculty member at University of Udine (Italy), Department DIEGM (Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica, Gesionale e Meccanica), in the Unit of Electrical Engineering.
I received the Master degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Udine, Italy, on April 2003. In 2007 I received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Udine, advisor Prof. Francesco Trevisan. During the Ph.D. I was visiting researcher at Tampere Univerity of Technology, Tampere, Finland (Prof. Lauri Kettunen, Prof. Saku Suuriniemi); at Université de Liège, Liège, Belgium (Prof. Patrick Dular) and at Boston University, Boston, USA (Prof. P. Robert Kotiuga).
During 2008 I was postdoc in the Applied and computational electromagnetics (ACE) research unit of the Montefiore Institute at Université de Liège, Liège, Belgium, working with Prof. Patrick Dular and Prof. Chrisophe Geuzaine. In late 2008 I become Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering at University of Udine. Currently I teach Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) (6 CFU) and Electrical Science (6 CFU).
During March 2013 I was Visiting Professor at the Centro Internazionale per la Ricerca Matematica (CIRM), Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) and Università di Trento, Trento, Italy, working with Prof. A. Valli and A. Alonso. From March to June 2015 I was Visiting Professor at Institut de Mathématiques et de Modélisation de Montpellier, Université Montpellier 2, Montpellier, France, working with Prof. Daniele A. Di Pietro.
I am author of more than 70 scientific papers published in refereed international Journals endowed with ISI impact factor, mainly in the field of computational electromagnetics, multi-physics problems (MEMS, nanoelectronics, fuel cells modeling), bioelectromagnetics, biomedical lab-on-a-chip devices, inverse problems and computational topology.
I am Editor of the ISI journal Mathematical Problems in Engineering and I am in the Editorial Board the Conference on the Computation of Electromagnetic Fields (COMPUMAG) and the IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation (CEFC). I am a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, COMPEL: The International Journal for Computation and Mathematics in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the European Physical Journal-Applied Physics (EPJ-AP), Journal of Theoretical and Applied Physics, Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Journal of Discrete Mathematics, Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, Annals of Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence and Journal of Computational Physics.
